Hawaii’s tourism economy is on pace with last year’s record-breaking year in spending and arrivals. Visitor expenditures in 1H 2014 were $7.4 billion, up $178 million over last year, says the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Visitors spent an average of $40.2 million statewide per day in the period.
