It was a gorgeous evening in Miami Beach last Friday night, made even more enjoyable by the final judging of the 2014 Bacardi Cruise Competition to determine this year’s Bartender of the Year. TMI was on hand as lovely Liisi Kutt from the Tallink & Silja Ferry line won the coveted title. In another major development in the cruise sector, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings last week agreed to buy Prestige Cruises International, parent company of luxury cruise brands Oceania and Regent Seven Seas. Further details can be found on page 3.
In the Boardroom. Quintessential Scottish company William Grant & Sons announced that it has acquired the Drambuie Liqueur Company, owner of another quintessential Scottish brand, Drambuie, which has a history going back to 1745. Story on page 2.

Tobacco. In a critical move against the sale of tobacco products in the United States, leading national drugstore chain CVS has stopped selling cigarettes at its more than 7,600 stores as of September 3. More details on page 3.
- More than 470 exhibiting companies have confirmed their stands for the premier event on the global duty free/ travel retail calendar – the 2014 TFWA World Exhibition taking place in Cannes, France from Oct. 26-31.
