On the eve of the opening of the 2014 Duty Free Show of the Americas, the industry is gathering in Orlando for another opportunity to see many of the best and newest products and ideas to grow the travel retail channel throughout the regions.

Among some of the more interesting new exhibitors, make sure to stop by Colombian lifestyle company TOTTO, (booth 322), one of the biggest brands in Latin America who makes an incredible range of functional, attractive bags of every sort and is now expanding to new markets. Both TOTTO and Victorinox Travel Gear (booth 227) are represented in travel retail by Affluent Brands.

After more than a year since closing its bidding process, Princess Juliana International Airport Operating Company (PJIAE) together with InterVISTAS Consulting Group, have officially announced that a partnership between incumbent, locally-based island retailers have won the core duty free contract at St. Maarten’s airport. In more concession contract news, the Nuance/DFASS joint venture has been approved to extend its contract in Orlando International Airport for an additional three years, bringing the concession agreement to 2012. Page 1.

More milestones at ATL, where Interim GM Miguel Southwell announces that this month marks three years since Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport solicited RFP for one of the largest concession roll-outs in North America. Today, 122 new food and retail locations are open, with the final tally coming in at 152 by the end of 2014. Page 4.
