Canada’s Frontier Duty Free Association made a surprise announcement on Friday revealing that it would hold a special Virtual Summit for its operator members this coming November. The Nov. 15-18 timeslot is when the FDFA’s very popular in-person Convention normally takes place. See page 1 for more details.

In more Association news, Tax Free World Association has unveiled further details of the World Exhibition & Conference to take place live in Cannes Oct. 24-28, 2021 (and virtually on its TFWA 360 platform). Along with the speakers at the TFWA Conference on Monday morning, Oct. 25, TFWA talks about the networking opportunities and health safeguards to be instituted in Cannes. Separately, TFWA announces the launch of a virtual i.lab that will take place online Oct. 25-28 on the TFWA 360 platform. See pages 1 & 2 for more information.

In a shot of good news for the region, the International Monetary Fund on Friday announced that Brazil’s economy has returned to pre-pandemic levels. See page 1.

Dufry-owned Hudson celebrated the reopening of its flagship Hudson News store at New York City’s world-famous Grand Central Terminal. Hudson has modernized the interior of the store with the latest innovations while preserving the history and nostalgia of the iconic location.
