Avolta has been particularly busy in the region, unveiling the first of several new stores planned in Toronto Pearson International Airport that offers a collection of Canadian-made and international brands. See page 4.
Avolta also announced a major duty free concession win in Santiago de Chile International Airport (page 2) and an extension/expansion of its concession contracts at four airports in Mexico with Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA), page 4.
VENEZUELA
In another very positive endeavor, Giromondo Group, under owners Ricard Guasch and Alessandro Battellino, celebrated the grand opening of their new Dôme duty free store in Caracas’ Maiquetía International Airport (also known as Simón Bolívar International Airport) on June 20th. The new store will showcase national and international products and symbolizes the Group’s confidence in Venezuela’s future, say the owners. Full story on page 2.

In a huge development at Miami International Airport, officials on June 24th broke ground on Concourse K, the first new terminal expansion at the major hub since 2012. See preliminary details on page 1.

Frédéric Chevalier has been appointed CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail, alongside Dag Inge Rasmussen, effective July 1st, 2025.The appointment was made on the recommendation of Dag Inge Rasmussen, who has led the company since 2011 and remains Chairman & CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail.
