Duty Free Americas in Uruguay
Today’s focus is on the border between Uruguay and Brazil where Duty Free Americas has opened a 10,000 square meter mega-store under the name Panda Free Shop at the new Rio Branco Shopping commercial and entertainment center.
Featuring themed merchandise sections and a vast selection of food, clothing, accessories, electronics and even custom furniture  –  along with parking for 700 vehicles – the complex brings a completely new offer to the region. See pages 1 & 2 for details.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world in Macau, China, Duty Free Americas was also garnering recognition for its luxury duty free store in the Shoppes at Venetian.

In more Airport news, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Southwest Airlines unveiled the new Los Angeles International Airport Terminal 1 on Nov. 30.
The half-billion-dollar, curb-to gate redevelopment showcases a new check-in area with self-service ticket kiosks, a nine-lane security checkpoint, new area for baggage claim, and dining and retail destinations with state-of-the-art design. Full story on page 3.
