Brown-Forman Corporation has promoted Alex Prendes to Director Global Travel Retail (GTR) Americas, effective July 3, 2023. In this new role, Prendes will join the Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail Leadership Team.

In February, Brown-Forman announced its new GTR organization with the creation of three geographical regions: the Americas, EMEAI (Europe, Middle East, Africa, India), and APAC (Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands), each with a dedicated commercial leader.
David Rodiek, Vice President, Managing Director GTR, Brown-Forman, leads Brown-Forman’s GTR organization.

His deep industry and commercial experience and his understanding of travel retail, along with his strategic mind and outstanding people leadership skills, make him well-suited for this important role,” said Rodiek. “With Alex at the helm of the GTR Americas business, our leadership team is now complete.”
Prendes joined Brown-Forman more than four years ago as a Florida State Manager, successively expanding his areas of responsibility. Most recently, he has been responsible for all off and on-premise channels, leading the team of commercial managers across Florida.
Prendes brings 14 years of experience in the spirits industry, having worked at Beam Suntory and Bacardi before joining Brown-Forman. He will remain based with his family in Miami. The Americas is the strongest travel retail region for Brown-Forman. Montgomery E. Wilson, who held this role previously, retired in 2022
