m1nd-set-sponsored purpose-driven sports program returns to Cannes for second time; event supports “inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment”

The second edition of m1nd-set’s purpose-driven Sunday sports program, taking place during the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, is gaining support with pledges from existing and new partners.

The Swiss research agency will be bringing the dynamic wheelchair rugby and blind football activity back to Cannes as part of the Sunday morning sports program before the 2024 TFWA World Exhibition & Conference gets underway. The event will feature a fun-filled morning with a blind football competition followed by wheelchair rugby training and a tournament, organized by players and coaches from France’s leading adaptive sports charity for people with disability, the Stade Toulousain Rugby Handisport (STRH).

Baptized Yes we Cannes!, the 2024 edition of the adaptive sports program is supported by TFWA, health and wellbeing brand Puressentiel and, new in 2024, Pringles, as event sponsors. It will take place once again at the Gymnase Capron, near the Hotel Martinez in Cannes from 9 am until 12 noon on Sunday September 29, with breakfast from 08.30am, courtesy of Puressentiel.

Other companies have also pledged support for the initiative but anonymously. All funds raised from sponsorship and participation will directly benefit the STRH charity.

TFWA will also be bringing back the highly popular Pétanque activity on Sunday morning, which will take place at the same time, at the Place de l’Étang in Cannes, near the Palm Beach.

“Following the success of last year’s event, TFWA is proud to once again support this very worthwhile cause,” commented TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen. “This initiative shines a spotlight on inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment, whilst also providing an enjoyable morning for those taking part.”

Registration for the event is free but a voluntary financial participation is requested (minimum 1€) to support the wheelchair sports charity. All donations are directly received by the Stade Toulousain Wheelchair Rugby charity when pledged during the registration process:  https://yes-we-cannes-2024.eventbrite.ch.

m1nd-set CEO & Owner Peter Mohn commented: “We at m1nd-set are passionate about raising awareness for greater disability inclusivity across the travel and travel retail industry and this is a great way to start the conversations.

“At the same time it allows participants to discover new skills, meet the professional team players and coaches and network ahead of the busy week in Cannes in a unique, rewarding and inclusive manner. We were delighted with the enthusiasm of the participants as well as the response and generosity we saw for the inaugural purpose-driven sports program in 2023. We hope this year’s event will see similar positive participation.”
