Canada’s Frontier Duty Free Association kicked off its 28th Annual Convention in Niagara Falls, Ontario yesterday, with a day-long Operator’s Meeting and the traditional Sunday night Opening Cocktail. TMI had an opportunity to sit down with FDFA President Abe Taqtaq in Cannes last month, to discuss some of the issues that will be on this week’s agenda for the Canadian border store business.  See interview on page 1.

Meanwhile, the latest duty free figures from the Canadian Border Services Agency show that Canada’s airport sales continue to demonstrate strong growth, while border sales in September were down across all regions.
