News from global Travel Retailers dominates this issue of Travel Markets Insider, led by Dufry Group. The Swiss based operator has signed a 7-year duty free and duty-paid concession contract at Seattle’s Sea-Tac Airport, and has released plans for its major new duty free operations at the new Terminal 5 at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
Dufry is strengthening its presence in Europe as well, with the signing of its agreement to acquire a majority share of the Folli Follie Group’s travel retail business comprising 111 shops in Greece. See full stories on pages 1 & 3.
National Geographic also has a travel retail presence, and on Oct. 12, Spanish company Worldwide Retail Store S.L. opened the first NG store in Panama at Tucumen International Airport. See details on page 2.
TMI also presents more details on the World Duty Free Group duty free concession at Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico, page 3.
And global luxury goods group LVMH reports that its 9-month revenues soared by 22% over the same period in 2011, driven in large part by excellent results from DFS Group and Sephora. Page 1.
