PIONEERING SPIRIT. Starboard Cruise Services Chairman Emeritus Jean-Pierre “JP” Miquel was guest of honor and surprise speaker at Essence Corp.’s annual internal meeting held at Miami’s Conrad Hotel last week. Miquel, whose broad-ranging career even includes a stint as Chairman of the Red Cross, presented a truly inspiring talk on Leadership. I was honored to be invited to give a few words of welcome to introduce this industry pioneer.
