In today’s TMI newsletter, we are happy to share a Special Report from our intrepid Washington-based writer Larry Luxner, who flew to Santa Clara, Cuba on Sept. 9 onboard JetBlue. This is the first month that regularly scheduled airlines may fly from the U.S. to Cuba in 54 years, and JetBlue was the first airline to commence service. North American airports continue to open new specialty retail outlets to appeal to a range of passengers. Miami International now has its North Terminal Marketplace up and running. Located between gates D-26 and D-29, the Marketplace features locally themed shopping and dining brands-including a brand new Original Penguin shop. On the other side of the continent, Vancouver International has opened six now shops, with a focus on fashion. Story on page 1 & 3.

 

In boardroom news, fashion and fragrance company Puig has acquired a minority stake in Brazil’s Grenado pharmacy chain, which includes several high-quality, natural toiletry brands. Page 1.
