In an important story developing in Miami, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez has taken over the leasing function of concessions from Miami Dade International Airport, and announced some far-reaching changes to how concessions at the airport will be handled in the future.
At the same time, MIA’s respected Aviation Director, Emilio Gonzalez, has announced his resignation, effective Feb. 1, although he insists that his stepping down from the post he has held for the past four years is not related to the Mayor’s directive. Story on pages 1-2.
