International Shoppes‘ stunning new stand-alone Beauty Store at Terminal 1 in New York’s JFK International Airport provides nearly three times the space the travel retailer had available for the category previously – and shoppers are responding with enthusiasm to the new brands and enhanced offer. TMI was on hand opening week to witness the latest evolution from one of the U.S.’s most prestigious operators. On the other side of the country, along the busy San Ysidro border, Baja Duty Free and Diageo have collaborated with design, architecture and brand-consulting agency Bloommiami to create the first Diageo store-within-a-store on the Southern border.  The space features attention-grabbing, disruptive elements in a high traffic location to showcase and bring life to Diageo’s marquis brands, says Bloommiami’s Darin Held.  Story and photos on page 3.
Airport Services.
Concession Planning International (CPI) has been selected to develop a new training program on airport commercial management for ACI. The Australia-based company has also been working with North American airports at Vancouver and Denver. Page 3.
