Today’s News:

Despite the continued prevalence of the COVID-19 virus, more and more key trade events are returning to live formats, not least of which is the travel retail industry’s premier trade show, the Tax Free World Exhibition. TFWA President Jaya Singh hosted a press conference last week where he reconfirmed that this year’s event will take place in Cannes, on October 24-28, as previously announced.

And he insists that every precaution will be taken to make it as safe as possible. The Show will take place in a hybrid format to accommodate people who are not able to travel to France. Page 1.

Prior to Cannes, and closer to home, the cruise industry’s premier business-to-business event, Seatrade Cruise Global, is returning to the Miami Beach Convention Center on September 27-30. This will be Seatrade’s 35th anniversary edition. See more details on page 2.

And yet another event is taking place live when the Gamma3 Council holds its 14th annual Forum at The Blue Mall, in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic on October 14-15. These meetings are normally strictly members-only but this October, for the first time, Gamma 3 is opening its sessions to a larger audience. The Forum hosts major retail industry experts who explore the trends, markets and practices that will guide the next decade of fashion.
