Avolta has officially opened its new 1,000 sqm Brazilian border store in Foz do Iguaçu. The new store was opened in the Catuaí Palladium shopping mall, which already hosts duty free stores managed by Cell Shop do Brasil and Paris Duty Free. With the new Dufry store, Catuaí will have more than 4,500 sqm of duty free shopping. Buenos Aires-based John Gallagher speaks with Gustavo Fagundes, CEO of Avolta Brazil, and João Bazzon, the superintendent of Catuaí, about the impact of the new store and how it strengthens Foz do Iguaçu’s position as an international shopping hub and the national duty free market. Executive Retail Shops has opened the first of two new store locations with the Sheltair Aviation FBO at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The opening of the a 693-square-foot flagship store brings the company to 21 points of distribution – a major milestone – with a smaller perfume boutique set to open at the airport later this winter.
