WHSmith North America opens iconic Tennessee culture retail concepts in Nashville International Airport

Specialty retailer WHSmith North America, incorporating Marshall Retail Group and InMotion, has announced the opening of four more new retail concepts at Nashville International Airport’s recently renovated Grand Lobby.

Three of the four new stores pay homage to two of the State’s most renowned icons – the Nashville music scene and the Tennessee Whiskey Trail.

The Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum concept, which was inspired by the actual Musicians Hall of Fame Museum located in Nashville, includes a replica of Memphis’ famous Sun City Recording Studio, where Elvis first recorded, a black guitar collage made of real guitars, a Jimi Hendrix “Purple Haze” record replica and a juke box with flying records.

In tribute to Nashville’s country artists, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum carries t-shirts, rhinestone jean jackets, western hats, mugs and other novelty items that reflect the history of country music. There is also a section dedicated to Hatch Show Print posters available for purchase. (Hatch Show Print is a Nashville print shop famous for its concert posters.)

Whiskey Trailhead is a unique concept that highlights the distilleries along Tennessee’s iconic Whiskey Trail — a tour of more than 30 whiskey distilleries across the state. The shop carries selections of whiskey and merchandise from the shops along the trail, complete with in-store tastings

The fourth store in WHSmith’s new retail openings is colorful, self-serve Natalie’s Candy Jar, which carries more than 500 varieties of confectionery and candy-related gifts.

WHSmith also recently partnered with the Utah Jazz basketball team to open the first Utah Jazz-dedicated airport team store inside Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), as well as two Public Market concepts, which features a dedicated news/convenience location on one side and a fashion/lifestyle concept on the other.

The group also opened a second iStore inside Boston Logan International Airport in the airport’s newly modernized Terminal E.
