
Avolta-owned Bridgetown Duty Free in Barbados was one of the two major Caribbean retailers to host the special Master Class with Rihanna’s personal make-up artist, Priscilla Ono, but the launch in the superstar’s hometown went far beyond that.
The event was held in two locations— on Broad Street and in Sunset Mall— and in addition to fully decking out the store windows and interiors with graphics, banners, posters, digital screens, back walls and gondolas, it featured nearly 300 square feet of space dedicated to the brand within the stores.
Avolta also gifted 65 social media personalities and influencers with Fenty products, most of whom posted videos as they unboxed the goodies.
In-store, Bridgetown Duty Free offered customers shade matchings for the Fenty foundation, and also sampled the Fenty fragrance. During the actual launch, Bridgetown celebrated with a full retailtainment program, enhanced by mixologists and a Spin the Wheel game, and especially highlighted by a “meet and greet” with Fenty Global makeup Artist Priscilla Ono.
Barbados was also the location for two Master Artistry Classes conducted by Ono, which were attended by 150 each at the historic Crane Hotel on Nov. 6th. Attendees came from across the Caribbean, and were actively engaged in the interactive program.
The highlight, of course, was the VIP Party held for 300 invited guests at QP Bistro Restaurant, one of Rihanna’s favorite on the island, made even more special when the superstar showed up in person!
“The Fenty Beauty launch was phenomenal. It cannot be compared to any other launch we have ever done because it was the most comprehensive ever taken,” said Kay Richards, Brand Manager – Duty Free Caribbean Ltd., at Bridgetown Duty Free.
“The launch was highly anticipated and customers were extremely excited, and sales since the launch have continued extremely well.”
Bridgetown reports that the most popular Fenty Beauty products at launch were MVP Velvet Icon Lipstick, Gloss Bomb, Diamond Bomb, Invisamatte and Hella Thicc Mascara. Since the launch the Fenty skincare products have increased in popularity, especially the body butters.
