There are quite a few exciting developments at the Point of Sale in airports throughout the region.
Leading off, DFA last week opened the first Polo Ralph Lauren shop in a U. S. airport at Miami International. DFA has several more in the pipeline, including a boutique in the Group’s soon to be opened concessions in Panama’s Tocumen Airport. Full story on page 1. To see more photos of the beautiful shop, please click here.
Diageo Global Travel has opened a luxury spirits store in partnership with the DFASS Group and its partners in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The shop carries some key Diageo brands, including Johnnie Walker, a range of Single Malts and spirits from Bulleit, Baileys, Cîroc, Tanqueray and Zacapa. The store was designed, produced and implemented by Bloommiami. Story on page 3.

Pop-up stores can add an entertaining touch of fun and whimsy to the rush and stress of an airport environment. A perfect example is the new Paint Monkey opened by Fraport USA in Pittsburgh International Airport. Travelers get the opportunity to paint their own masterpiece on pre-sketched canvases in a range of sizes that fit into carry-on luggage. The new concept is proving to be a big hit with families, says the airport operator. Story and pictures on page 4.
DANZKA is reporting great success with the rollout of its vodka in South America, where it has been running some high-profile airport promotions with Dufry in Brazil and Uruguay since the start of the year. Coming up next is the launch of the super premium DANZKA THE SPIRIT in US Duty Free, where the company will be working with Chase International. Page 3.

Research
The Duty Free World Council’s latest KPI Monitor, produced by Swiss research and consultancy agency m1nd-set, is offering enhanced information, integrating an air traffic benchmark from IATA into the data. Not surprisingly, Asia Pacific led international growth in the fourth quarter of 2017, with mixed results from the other regions. See page 4 for more information.
