First, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey unveiled a new EWR Vision Plan that calls for the rebuilding of Newark Liberty International’s outdated, 40+ year-old Terminal B. PANYNJ is planning to repeat the success of the airport’s new Terminal A, which received numerous industry awards including recognition as the best new airport terminal in the world by Skytrax and its 5-star rating earlier this year.
Completed in 2023, Terminal A now joins LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B – another PANYNJ project — as the only two airport terminals in North America awarded the highest rating by Skytrax. See details on pages 1 & 2.
In related news, 3Sixty Duty Free & More has been awarded a new seven-year retail concession at EWR Terminal B that will cover six stores. Page 1.
Miami International Airport also announced two major milestones over the past week or so. This past Tuesday, the airport demonstrated a new cutting-edge TSA perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) technology – the first test site in the U.S. And last week, MIA hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first phase of the airport’s new Central Terminal check-in area. On the West coast of the U.S., San Francisco International Airport announced plans to open an interim connecting walkway on November 5th as part of the $2.6 billion Terminal 3 West Modernization Project currently underway. Among its other improvements, the current T3 project will create 200,000-square-feet of additional concession space at the airport when it reopens in 2027. Page 4.

Starboard Luxury, the luxury division of Starboard Group, in collaboration with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Bvlgari, has launched a unique Bvlgari Boutique aboard the fleet’s newest yacht, Ilma. The alliance will expand beyond retail offerings, say the companies, and will weave the “essence of Bvlgari” into Ilma’s guest vacation journey. Full story on page 2.
Royal Caribbean has unveiled its newest cruise destination – Perfect Day Mexico – that it will be building in Mahahual, on Mexico’s popular Caribbean coast. See page 3.
