We start with the stunning blockbuster shop-in-shop that The Macallan has opened in Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), Terminal 3 Departures, in partnership with Avolta. This is The Macallan’s second shop-in-shop location in Latin America. The multi-sensory, immersive installation features a bold red and gold interior, inspired by the brand’s Six Pillars that define the single malt’s characteristics. Page 1.  

ARI- North America this week opened a stand-alone sunglass boutique at Quebec City International Airport. The new Spectrum concept offers travelers a premium retail experience in a bright and modern setting, further elevating the traveler experience at the airport. Page 2. 

SUMMER TOURS PLUS

DON JULIO

Diageo GTR has launched “The Summer of Serve” campaign for its Don Julio premium tequila in major airports in Europe and the Americas. The tasting activation features how to make the Paloma cocktail in Europe, while focusing on the always popular Margarita in the Americas. See more on page 2.

SOL DE JANEIRO

L’OCCITANE Global Travel Retail is launching “the hottest summer tour” featuring Body Badalada Vitamin-Infused Lotion from its Brazilian-inspired body care brand Sol de Janeiro. This is the brand’s biggest travel retail campaign to date, running in more than 350 airports across the world from June. Page 3.

Puig has revealed its global rebranding for Rabanne in a collaboration with Avolta at Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). The new Rabanne counter debuts the brand’s new visual image and introduces Rabanne Makeup into the Americas travel retail channel. Page 4. 

CRUISE

Celebrity Cruises has revealed the Celebrity Flagship store, a unique retail experience that doubles as an interactive exhibit celebrating all things Celebrity. The Celebrity Flagship is one of four new venues onboard the new Celebrity Xcel, which will begin sailing its inaugural season in November from Fort Lauderdale. The new concept store will immerse guests in a journey of innovation and offer custom mementos, says the company. Page 4.

Avolta expands its presence in cruise retail onboard NCL’s newly launched Norwegian Aqua with eight shops and many “first-at-sea” concepts. Page 5.

Starboard and Invicta Watch Group are launching the exclusive Invicta Tequila on 26 cruise ships. The new lifestyle product, produced by Casa Maestri Distillery in Mexico, was developed in a unique, first-of-its-kind collaboration. See further details on page 5.
