Avolta, the main retail partner for the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) fleet, has expanded its presence in the cruise channel with the recent launch of NCL’s latest ship, Norwegian Aqua.
Avolta has opened eight duty free shops, together with additional spaces for sunglasses, fashion, watches and pre-loved luxury.
Showcasing a range of products across all the core categories, with internationally renowned and luxury brands strongly represented, the Norwegian Aqua features a number of “first at sea” concepts including a stand-alone Breitling and Tag Heuer store, a Norqain watch store, and the addition of brands Bally and Ralph Lauren.

Building on these firsts, Avolta has introduced a selection of digital tools to elevate the shopping experience; Fragrance Finder technology helps customers discover the perfect fragrance, whilst the Whisky Finder helps whisky connoisseurs and novices alike discover the perfect dram for any occasion.
An exclusive, limited-edition collection of products celebrates the vibrant hull art of Norwegian Aqua. Created by the first-major female hull artist for NCL, Allison Hueman is renowned for her street art and collaborations with many leading global brands. Titled “Where the Sky Meets the Sea,” her striking and colorful visual blends abstract and figurative representations of the sea and sky.

Gian Botteri, Head of Cruise Division at Avolta said: “Avolta is committed to offering cruise customers the most exciting and innovative store concepts and product assortments, and we are now inspiring and delighting travelers with an unforgettable shopping experience on the stunning new Norwegian Aqua. We were delighted to extend our valued partnership with NCL onboard this latest addition to their fleet and thank the NCL team for their continued trust and valued support.”
Delivered in March 2025, Norwegian Aqua is sailing itineraries to the Caribbean and Bahamas. Norwegian Aqua boasts first-of-its-kind attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster, the fastest and longest slides at sea, and the Glow Court, a digital sports complex that transforms into a nightclub.
