Avolta has announced that it has been granted long-term travel retail contract extensions with four airports operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).
The contract extensions cover Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and Bajío International Airports in Mexico. The length of the extensions were not revealed.
The agreement builds on a partnership between Avolta and GAP that spans almost three decades and the companies say that it reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the airport experience while further developing the commercial potential of Mexico’s growing aviation market.
The four airports, which handle both business and leisure travel, together welcome more than 30 million passengers annually.
In addition to securing extensions at Avolta’s existing operations, the agreement covers planned terminal expansions at Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta airports. Avolta is expected to expand its commercial footprint in both developments, including a minimum of three additional duty free stores in each new terminal as they become operational.
The Avolta announcement says that the company will continue to offer a retail proposition combining globally recognized brands with locally relevant products and experiences. The stores will showcase key duty free categories alongside a carefully curated assortment reflecting Mexico’s heritage, culture and gastronomy, creating a strong sense of place for domestic and international travelers alike.
