DFA launches Duty Free Express online pre-order system

DutyFree Express

Duty Free Americas has expanded and upgraded its innovative new online travel retail service called Duty Free Express.

A web-based application for desktop computers and mobile devices, Duty Free Express enables travelers to shop for duty free products online up to seven days before arriving at the airport for a scheduled international trip. The website, which was active in Miami International Airport for the past year, underwent a redesign in advance of its national roll-out in mid-January.
Duty Free Express is part of DFA’s ongoing effort to bring a more technology-friendly experience to its customers worldwide, says the company.

“Duty Free Express will have a significant impact on DFA’s growth as more time-conscious travelers discover the convenience of pre-ordering their duty free products online,” said Simon Falic, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of DFA. “DFA already saves travelers money on their favorite products. Now we’ll be saving our customers valuable time, as well. DFA is proud to lead the travel retail industry in innovation. We are committed to working with airports to introduce new technology to make duty free shopping as convenient as possible.”

Greg Hoffman, Director of Partnerships and Digital Commerce at DFA, said, “The process is very simple. Right on your computer or smartphone, you can now browse, shop and pay for hundreds of premium quality duty free items, including cosmetics, fragrances, and liquor products, with more to come. The purchased items will then be hand-delivered directly to your flight’s gate on your day of travel. This ‘web to gate’ concept is truly a game-changer.”

Individuals traveling internationally simply have to enter their flight information into www.dutyfreeexpress.com to begin shopping.

With over 150 stores in the United States and internationally, DFA is the largest duty/tax-free retailer in the Western Hemisphere.
