British perfumery brand Penhaligon’s has partnered with International Shoppes to open a retail space at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), marking the brand’s first opening in North America Travel Retail since its acquisition by Puig. The opening comes amid a boom in niche fragrance sales in North America and marks a strategic move for Penhaligon’s as it expands its global footprint.
A visual and sensory delight, the Penhaligon’s space in Terminal 1 offers travelers a unique opportunity to experience the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship. The new Penhaligon’s store at JFK Airport features the brand’s signature Oud de Nil color palette and distinct areas dedicated to its iconic collections, including:
British Tales: This line celebrates 150 years of fine British perfumery with timeless classics. Fragrances in this range are inspired by history, myth, lore and legend.
Portraits: An imaginative series inspired by secretive aristocratic characters. Portraits is a tribute to the good old English spirit: stiff upper lip, caustic humor, and a knack for provocation.
Trade Routes: Inspired by luxurious goods traded at the London Docks at the turn of the 19th century, fragrances in this collection evoke the spirit of adventure and discovery.
The store will also offer the full range of Penhaligon’s fragrances, as well as travel sets.
Penhaligon’s, founded in 1870, is one of the oldest and most revered names in international perfumery, with a storied history intertwined with British culture and tradition. The brand is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and olfactive storytelling, creating fragrances that capture the essence of British elegance and sophistication.
Kaatje Noens, Puig Executive Vice President Global Travel Retail, said: “Penhaligon’s entry into North America travel retail is timely as consumers in the region are increasingly seeking luxury and more sophisticated fragrance products. We’re delighted to introduce the brand’s exquisite fragrance collections to shoppers at one of North America’s top airports in a stunning new retail space that sets a new standard for luxury fragrance offerings in the Americas.”
Scott Halpern, CO-CEO International Shoppes, added: “International Shoppes is thrilled to have been chosen as the first duty free retailer in Travel Retail North America to introduce the charm and uniqueness of British perfumery brand Penhaligon’s to travelers at JFK Terminal 1 since its acquisition. When carefully selecting brands for our new specialty fragrance store, Penhaligon’s was an obvious choice, reflecting our commitment to offering the finest and most distinctive scents to our customers.”
